Bethelehem Baptist Church is located in the City of York, PA. It was founded in 1928. We are an established church seeking to win souls for Jesus Christ. The Church was founded by Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and under the pastoral stewardship of Rev. Dr. Aaron Willford, Jr.

We give thanks to Almighty God for 84 years of being able to freely worship according to our religious beliefs and convictions, carrying out our purpose as “a church with a vision and a mission.”

Pastor Aaron Willford, Jr. is a native of Fort Myers, Florida. At a very early age he moved to Steelton Pa. where he attended the Steelton public School system. He is a Graduate of Steelton Highspire High School. He attended the Harrisburg Area Community College and Messiah College of Grantham, PA, majoring in Child Psychology. There he was the co-founder and president of the Black Student Union. He also attended many pastoral seminars to further his education. In June, 1992, Pastor Willford received his Bachelor’s of Theology and in June, 1994 his Masters of Theology and in June 1996 he earned his Doctorate of Theology all from the Philadelphia Bible College and Seminary.

Pastor Willford was called to become the pastor of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, York, Pennsylvania in October 1980.

Pastor Willford has served on the board of Family Services of York and Harrisburg, Board of Directors of the Crispus Attucks Community Center and the Rehabilitation Industrialization Training Center (RITC). He also served as Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach for the William Penn Senior High School, York. In 1982 he co-founded and served three terms as President of the Black Ministers Association of York County, board member of Community Progress Council of York. Pastor Willford is co-founder of The African-American Political Round Table of York and vicinity. Pastor Willford served on the Mayor’s transition team and as an advisor to the mayor. In 2003 he was selected and served on the committee to select a new Police Commissioner. Pastor Willford is currently serving his second term on the School District of the City of York Board of Education (2010 - 2012)

Pastor Willford is married to Mrs. Jean Willford of 32 years. He is the father of four children and the grandfather of eight.

Pastor Willford gives all the praise and glory to the Lord for the things he has done. His testimony is . . . "If I can help somebody as I travel along the way, then I'll know that my living shall not be in vain".
